Here are a few of the things that I recommend on Maui’s North Shore:

To Do:

Beaches.  My favorite beach is Baldwin.  It has 365 degree views of nature, and a great place for a memorable walk on the beach at sunset.

Twin Falls: Lovely and convenient easy walk in to some very lovely waterfalls with lagoons for swimming.

Bamboo Forest: Just Past Twin Falls Headed towards Hana, is a beautiful place to hike with cascading falls and pools intertwined by meandering bamboo forested foot trails.

Eats:

Mamas Fish House: As fancy as it gets. Delicious island flavors, freshly caught seafood, and gorgeous atmosphere right on the ocean.  A wonderful place to eat dinner. Plan to arrive in time for sunset. call for reservations 808-579-8488 www.mamasfishhouse.com

Flatbreads Pizza, More casual, rustic setting.  Wood fired pizza cooked before you. You cannot walk by this place  without being tempted by the aromas these wonderful artisan pizza creations pulling you in.  great atmosphere, great pizza, and if you are lucky, you may be graced by some hand picked live local music.

Stay:

Mangolani Inn: Just a short walk from the heart of Paia town on the outskirts is a place where you can retreat to for a restful nights sleep.  The Mangolani inn is quite lovely, tucked away on the outskirts of town, and offers garden sanctuary and fruit trees on all sides.  No late night Paia disturbances here! www.mauipaia.com
